SIC ICSD undertakes projects in collaboration with national and regional partners. Currently, our center is implementing two significant projects:

  1. Joint Project with FAO: "Comprehensive Plan for the Restoration of Degraded Desert Pastures of the Central Karakums and Their Sustainable Management under Increasing Drought." This project aims to develop a sustainable pasture management plan to enhance productivity and water supply, thereby supporting the local population engaged in desert livestock farming. The project is part of the extensive FAO-GEF project on “Integrated Natural Resources Management in Drought-Prone and Salt-Affected Agricultural Production Landscapes in Central Asia and Turkey (CACILM-2)” (GCP/SEC/293/GFF).

  2. Joint Project with SIC ICWC for UNDP: "Training and Capacity Building on Climate Change Adaptation Integration into Water Management Planning and Development of a Trainer Training Program." The goal of this project is to enhance the qualifications of water management specialists by teaching them methods for integrating climate change adaptation into water resource planning and management processes. The project is part of the extensive UNDP/GCF project on “Developing the National Adaptation Planning Process in Turkmenistan”/NAP (RFQ-TKM-017-2022 (POC0001726)).

We are committed to sustainable development and effective natural resource management, providing support and training to local communities and specialists.
