Ecosystems and Biodiversity

Priority Area 5 of the Regional Environmental Programme for Sustainable Development in Central Asia (REP4SD) emphasizes the sustainable management of land resources and the conservation of biodiversity as essential components of regional environmental security. In a region marked by desertification, land degradation, and habitat loss, integrated land use planning and preservation of ecosystems are crucial for long-term resilience.

This database section presents key strategies, policies, regional initiatives, publications and materials aligned with REP4SD objectives, including the development of ecological corridors, restoration of degraded lands, and protection of species and habitats. These materials contribute to advancing SDG 15 and promoting cross-border ecological cooperation.
